I que va veure des del primer moment que l’Estatut de Catalunya posava en joc la seva pròpia estabilitat i que hauria preferit un president més obedient (¡i ara que el tenen no és tan obedient com es pensaven!). En tot cas, que quedi clar: encara que en el moment més àlgid de la tempesta vaig dir que no me n’aniria perquè m’ho demanessin com a contrapartida política, una vegada aprovat l’Estatut al Parlament català, al Congrès i al Senat espanyols, i una vegada refrendat l’Estatut pels catalans al mes de juny, vaig anunciar que convocaria eleccions per a l’1 de novembre (ara farà un any). I vaig plegar, feliç i tranquil. Espero que ara, tal com ha defensat Javier Pérez Royo, no se li acudi a ningú modificar l’Estatut que el poble ha ratificat!
